I was at UA same time 99-03 and this thread made me reminisce of those days and all the bands that I heard regularly. Thanks for that. Great times. Wayne Mills was my favorite also. I was at Harry's if he was. I had forgotten about Rollin in the Hay. I saw Pat Green on the strip too. Sounds like quite a few of us were there then...

I was there from 99-03 and I'm glad the music was good cause the football during that time sucked (outside of winning the SEC in '99). I remember The Booth would sell 10 cent beers on Sunday nights (PBR's in a can). Cheap Shots was another of our favorite spots on the strip. The Back Porch was another bar on the strip where my wife and I went on our first date.

If you attended UA in the fall of '99 and enjoy reminiscing I would suggest you pick up a copy of "Rammer Jammer Yellow Hammer: A Journey into the Hear of Fan Mania" by Warren St. John. This book chronicles the '99 football season and will bring back some great memories for you.

I’m not sure how much y’all get back to Tuscaloosa but it sure has changed a lot since back then. In many ways not for the better..

Yep, it changed quickly after my time there. Part of that was the boom brought on by Saban's hire and part of that was from the rebuilding after the tornado. But what ever the cause it is definitely a very different landscape now. Up until about 2012 I could still go to Tut's and get a nice greasy philly cheese steak. But that, too, finally faded away like so many other landmarks from my time there.

Monsoon's on Dauphin St was the place for me in Mobile during those years.
