Any have experience with Harbor Freights Badlands ZXR2500lb winch with remote control?

No personal experience, but I assume all "store brands" are made at the same factory in China.

I know people with the larger truck mounted winches and they are serving them well.

I think HF has a liberal return policy, so go for it.

Have one on my beast buggy. It’s been on there about 5 years now and still works it’s not near as smooth to operate as some better ones and it’s the loudest winch I’ve ever heard but it works.

I haven't seen one thats crapped out yet that I recall. I've helped install many of them on trailers. Folks seem to lik'em.

get one with the rope instead of cable

Got one on the bed of my ranger that still pulls like it did when it was brand new (dad put it on the back to help load deer up in the bed of the ranger and save his back). Got a different brand on the front that hasn't worked in the 4 years I've had it (about to replace it with a Badlands that dad had planned on putting on it)

Yep. Have one with the remote. It’s a solid winch.

I put one of the 2500 lb pull winches on my 4 wheeler. Not sure of the model but it was 4 or 5 years ago. It was a few months until I got around to installing it and another 6 months or so before I actually needed it. Worked great. A month or two later I used it to lock my wheeler down to my trailer and it didn't have any more pulling strength than I could have done with a plain rope, without a winch, ratchet or come-a-long. I checked the connections and put a multimeter on it and had good voltage. It hasn't worked right since and I'll not get another from HF.

I don't care which brand you buy, if you use them to tie down to your trailer you will eventually bust them gears. I have used Traveller from TSC and they have worked well.
