He passed the Crucible known as "Game Day" at AWS (Amazon Web Services) today. His first time to try. They basically screw up the internet and put him in front of a computer and tell him to fix it.
He is on the team that manages about 40% of the Worlds internet and data cloud services depending on who you talk to. He's been working there since the start of the year and eagerly anticipating the test that will allow him full access to everything and to become a full fledged part of the team.
He has come so far from making $9 an hour at Game Stop when he was 19 to now only 5 years later and he's a Network Engineer at AWS making more than Mrs. Irish and I could ever dream of.
We are flying out there in June for the Solstice Festival and then taking his Porsche to the Olympic National Park for a few days to explore before coming back to Freemont and spending a few more days with him before flying back to Alabama.
He's wanting us to buy his Porsche Cayenne S and drive it back... He just bought a new Audi RS3 today, so I know he would like us to take the Porsche off his hands, but I don't know... I have never owned a Porsche. I know the first day the he drove it up to the cabin and Mrs. Irish sat in it, it was like she was in car wonderland. All polished aluminum and leather like a peanut butter baseball glove...

Very nice read my take away message was that y'all will be driving a Porsche back home in stead of flying I don't know... That's a long damn way and I ain't never needed a Porsche before.

Buy the Porsche. I had the opportunity to buy my wife one many years ago, before kids came along and drained us. I didn’t do it and have regretted it ever since. Especially when I see one on the road that looks a lot like the one we were looking at.

You may change your mind after driving it for a couple of days while you are up there. Besides, you have said before that he has never needed financial assistance from you in the past and it his highly doubtful that he does now, but it would be a way for you to benefit him in that manner and it not be an actual "gift" and I am sure he knows you would take excellent care of it.

Screw the Porsche and buy you a nice motorcycle. Just kidding. You’d be better off letting Mrs. Irish have the Porsche. Hell, I already have two motorcycles now that I don't have time to ride. I'm more concerned about buying a Porsche that's out of factory warranty.

I can’t imagine what a feeling that must be. I have two young daughters(6&7) who I worry about every day. To see your child grow up and become successful and to know that they are going to be ok must be such a relief! Hell... It never ends. We still worry about him. I worried about him not passing this crucial test. I worry that he meets the right girl. I worry about him getting run over while riding his electric bike to work. It never stops...

I can't say I worry about my children and grand children but I am concerned about the decisions they make and what happens to them.I pray for God to protect them and to lead and direct their paths.I can offer some personal advice and direction which they may or may not listen to. It sounds like you have raised a fine young man.Be proud of him.I'm proud of mine.
