Sounds fun! I did it this past weekend with a 5 year old, but he did set at the front. 😅
What kind of kayak do you have? I'm researching pedal drives right now.

What kind of kayak do you have? I'm researching pedal drives right now. Got several. Tonight we just slid in a cheapo for a quick paddle. My favorite one though (for when I'm really fishing) is a Vibe Sea Ghost 110. Bought it from a feller on here last year. Great boat.

I always use the feel free. I haven't even tried the vibe.

Klay, i have done a tremendous amount of research into pdl yaks. If i was going to buy a premium platform..spare no expense..id get a native slayer or titan..i have got to play with them some..reverse on demand..everything is made in usa and they are pure quality.. i am not a fan of hobie,but..i think the mirage drives design is a marvel of engineering and they do have selectable reverse now..you can flutter them in shallow water and leave the fins completely perpendicular with the hull to draft extra skinny etc..i am practical and i need a propeller myself..old town makes an excellent pdl as well. For the money..the perception crank 10 pdl or the 3 waters big fish..pelican makes a clone of a hobie mirage drive..but unless they have raised the level of quality..it will tear up in short order..lot of people havin issues..or they were anyway

I talked to Ken over at freedom marine yesterday about Hobies. He dropped them due to issues. I know most people swear by them, but he said they warped sitting in the factory display, and he had a customer sink in one. He was afraid to sell anymore. I'm going to look into the Natives.

I WOULD like to have a yak but my back kills me after a few hours. You just need one with a decent seat. The cheap ones that have the seat molded into the hull and/or just have a flimsy pad as a seat back kill me after just a few minutes. But the seats on mine allow me to fish all day with no problems at all. Find you one with a seat like these...

Is the Jackson Coosa a thing? Seems like I recall it being super nice back when i still had a yak.
Been here long enough to go from "bring 'da pain" to " bring 'da pain meds.
