I haven’t been in about 25 years to this particular area. Always up for a new place to visit and have been looking around on line at condos. Are most of them low density (under 5-6 stories)? I remember they have some big ones in the area as well but I see a whole bunch of smaller complexes. Anyone have any recommendations?

For low density in Orange Beach I’d look at Cinco Brisas or Seascape. Plus you’ll have some cool neighbors who will probably be grilling, frying, or boiling something next door.

Not so much looking for low density. It just seems everything advertised IS low density. I was just curious if that’s the new norm down there.

No, all the bigger condos are likely booked.

You've got to book those at least 4 months ahead, or longer. We are leaving Wednesday and booked it in January.

U can go to vrbo orange beach and see if anything is available - put in the date - can see what available

As one guy said - the Phoenix has been solid - we go evry year but it getting way to crowded - but I always enjoy it and it is expensive

Hunt the wind - leave it better than you found it - love your neighbor as you love your self

I always book one a week or so before we go. Sometimes the prices get cheaper last minute. Last yr was the hardest it has been to find one. I looked the other day and was suprised at all the avails for the first of June, figured the prices are so high now some people are just not going

Last year we went to the US Virgin Islands and rented a compound with 4 separate buildings: Bedroom, Kitchen/Dining room, Living room/Bar area, and another Bedroom bungalow. Plus it had a small pool. We shared the place with a couple of our travel buddies (You've probably seen them in some of my posts.)

Total cost was $1800 for the villa, Jeep Rental was about $600 and the flights were about $800.

Our travel buddies Dennis and Donna...

This was our view...

Everyday I would cook us a nice breakfast. We would eat it while enjoying the view, then we would pack up the Jeep with beer, cocktails, waters, snacks, snorkeling gear, and our chairs and head off to a different beach that looked like this... We stayed for a week and a half.

Notice the crowds of people... grin

This year the 4 of us are travelling to the Dominican Republic. We all decided we didn't want as much of a freestyle adventure trip this year and so we are going to an all-inclusive, just to chill and be waited on hand and foot. Our all inclusive room at the resort for the 2 of us is $1700. We haven't booked our flights yet. We are going to wait until we get back from Seattle and Olympic National Park.
