I had a BGE for years and the bottom cracked. Got a Pitboss 1100 and loved that thing. I didn’t like the flare ups when cooking hamburgers but everything tasted really good and had a nice smoky flavor to me. Didn’t like steaks on it even using the sear opening. I thought I missed my BGE so I bought a Kamado Big Joe. My Pitboss burned up when the auger jammed while smoking a turkey.
Honestly, the easiest best tasting food I’ve made. The kamado styles require a little more work but not like an offset.
The newer pellet grills are definitely worth looking at. Ease of use and easy obtainable good tasting food. What’s not to like.
After my pellet caught on fire in the auger I’d definitely look at those types that drop the pellets into the firebox to keep that from happening. Honestly it was my fault as I’m sure moisture got to the pellets and jammed it up.
