Pirate house restaurant. Vic’s on the river. They have a good Bloody Mary with jalapeño

It has already been said, first off get on one of the trolley tours, you will learn more about the city fast than anything else you could do. Then you can narrow down what you want to do. Cotton Exchange on the river gets a one for good food

I’m there on business a few times a year. I really enjoy the historic downtown area. Alligator soul is my favorite restaurant there. But most of the others already mentioned are good too

Stay away from the tourist traps and eat at Crystal Beer Palace or Cotton Exchange. I lived there for 6 years and those two were consistently good to excellent.

Never been but just watched an episode of Man v Food. He went to place in Savannah called The Pirate House. The fried chicken looked outstanding. He eased over to Tybee Island and went to The Crab Shack for the low country boil.

good recommendations above. If u like to fish go to Tybee and rent a kayak at the Marina and go down toward the end of the Island on the right-west side , park at the public lot on Chatham ave and paddle across the river and fish the oyster shell ledge all the way out to the ocean. caught more fish doin that alone than a buddy and I did with a guide a few days earlier, even got a free show from a couple of nudist on the beach across the river early that morning when they woke up in their hammocks....guess they weren't used to visitors**.. got a good meal @ AJ's just up the river. Savannah is a cool town-wish it was closer

Pink house was great for sure, and the history of the house was great. We ate in the bar downstairs and really enjoyed it. Very walkable city with great history. Take one of the tours, then you know your way around and you can go back to the places you want to check at more, this worked for us. Never did the ghost tour, but I will when we go back. Want to stay in a B&B next time , but Marriott was nice and convenient to a lot of sites.

On another note, treat Savanah like you would New Orleans and stay close to the main toursist areas downtown. You go 2 blocks the wrong direction and you're in a war zone every bit as bad as New Orleans or Montgomery. It's a real shithole outside the historic district.

Used to be owned by a local family, guy from New York bought the Gibson out and sounds like he’s trying to buy a bunch of other businesses in town. He bought the Owl restaurant also.

Hope the Owl does not change; had a great meal there last fall while on our trip to St George Island. Going back in October

I got roped into spending an afternoon there once. My advice is to book a fishing trip one day to break up the monotony. You are sure to be as bored as I was otherwise. How you get tricked into agreeing to this?

I had fun running there first thing every morning. I crisscrossed the city and got to see all the same parks early AM. It was touristy as hell. There must have been a 100 bachelorette and bachelor party groups there the weekend we went. The Lighthouse at Tybee was cool along with the old fort. Drinking ghost tour was fun.
