I d like to see the location on google maps where the cabin was. if someone could post it.
I love the rut. The woods are like a bunch of roided up meatheads fighting over a girl.

In ‘89 I would’ve been a year away from being in my mommas belly lol. I know the area quite well but haven’t heard the story till reading this.

I'm not a criminologist or shrink but , I don't think he was a serial killer , just a born killer. The people missing he had contact with are all ages , sexes, a large cross section. He got in a tight situation , he killed. I reckon only one body has been found . If you talk to those who investigated this , they say there's many more . There's a heck of a book and movie there , but little is know about what happened and Potts ain't talking, never did.

Charles McCray has property near me. He’s got about 150 or so that border the south side of our farm. I’ve never met him but assumed he had passed. Last I checked, that property was changed into his daughters name. Is he still alive? As of last fall he was still alive. Sorry I just saw your post.

Charles is still alive both his daughters go to church with me. One of his son-in-laws is Pudge Bailey that works at the post office and is on the scottsboro city council. Y’all got me wanting to ask them about Pott’s I may be lucky to be alive as much time as we spent on Garret mountain. We made a many of trail rides up goat point all the way to the fire tower and eat at Giffords grocery. I am sure 2 dogs has had a meal there. She had a way with words lol one day one of our buddy’s tried to buy beer from her on Sunday. He walked in and told her I ain’t the law she told him I don’t give a da## who you are you ain’t getting it Been to Mamma Gifford's many times back in the day. Several times through the mountains , but never out the North end of "Garrett". Been through Crabtree Cove and up Estill Creek / Keller Creek out to Keith Springs . Estill / Keller Creek to Keith Springs was a very long , rough ride, just to get a Bologna Sammich and a case of beer.
