Sometimes is almost as cheap to pay someone to change it.

They sho do! last time I went to Eastern Shore Toyota to have mined changed they texted me while sitting in the lobby and said it was time for a new Cabin Air Filter for $49 I think it was. I said nope and when I got home I pulled it out to look at it and it looked brand new. On some things just because the mileage says so doesn't mean it's so.

Little fun story from todays oil change. Some ass hole at prolly express changed the oil in this truck last. It had torque stripe on the drain plug. It was tight af. It came out. While it came out it pulled the threads off the oil pan. I put an oversized drain plug it and have hoped for the best. On the hunt for an oil pan now. I’m so happy!!!!!! If I have to

I do my own trucks and 4runner . I did my old Chevy 3/4 ton and 4 runner a couple days ago. If I could get under my wife's Highland I'd do it, that's the only one we hire out now. I built a set of wooden ramps 7- 8" high , nothing to it. If I do it I know , the plug and filter is tight , cap is on and it has oil in it.

I have Never had someone to change my oil. Ten minute job at the max and I leave the oil sitting beside the locked oil bin outside of Wal-Mart.

Works for me.

I personally know of two people that once used quick change oil places. Both of them discontinued that when they picked up their cars without drain plugs in them. When one of them picked up her car it was idling out front. She did not make it home before the check engine light came on.

I’ve dated women that use Pep Boys & the like for oil changes. When we were dating I was happy to do car maintenance. She got on the Pep Boys email/mailer distribution list & they’d send coupons for cheap oil changes ($15 or 20 at the time). A few times I told her I couldn’t buy oil and filter for that amount so go ahead and use them. Buyer beware though. One day they recommended new wipers & she trusted them and got $60 new wipers installed.

My truck is currently waiting on an engine replacement still after two months. My last oil change at express oil they left a double gasket on the oil filter. The double filter blew out while I was on the interstate and I lost all all pressure and my engine locked up.

Why waste time changing oil when I could be fishing? I got on some place and pay the guy to do it takes 20 min.

I hadn't changed my own oil in years until last week. The shop that had always done all my work on my bucket trucks shut down and I haven't found anyone local that has a bay they can get it in. It ain't hard but I would still gladly have someone else do it.

Ran eco diesel, it was in for emissions crap, and I don’t think about it I have been on the road non stop so I just told them to do it thinking it would be a couple hundred bucks and almost passed out when he told me. The crank position encoder wheel had Grenaded at childrens the night before so ingot it cranked and drove it to the dealership. I guess I am going it go back to doing my own.

The transmission is a flush and requires their machine on this one.
