How do y’all avoid alerting deer when getting out of the woods? I’m more talking about bow hunting and not a good greenfield setup. Do y’all coyote call to run em off? Any tips on trying to run em off without blowing a spot would be appreciated. Thanks!

I've called my nephew before to ride to where I was to run them off.
I've stuck my cell phone out the ground blind and waved it ,,,, light on
You can run a deer off and you can scare a deer off . You don't want to scare a deer off

If u hav him coming out in daylight fairly routinely - I would try my hardest not to spook
I hav not hunted hot days and never hunt wrong winds
One of my bow stands I can ease out of blind and go straight away from field on trail in woods and they can’t see me r no what I was - i set it up that way on purpose - so I could leave w out getting busted
It’s easier to do w rifle - but sometimes the Lay of the land will not allow u to do that
Hunt the wind - leave it better than you found it - love your neighbor as you love your self We need prayer for our country now more than ever

I've plowed green fields and they just look at me . If I get close they back off and come back as I went away from them . I've cut fire wood and killed deer eating off the trees that evening. Had deer eat in a green spot with kids running and playing less than a 100 yards away on the other side of the wood line. If they starts huffing and puffing, ,,,,, you scared him . Lol If they just look at you funny and trot off you just run them off a little ways . I may not be making any scenes but it come's down to ,,,,, will/does the deer see you as a danger

^^^ I walk hunched down at my bow blind - it’s actually a big muddy - it shields me and when I finally walk to the right to hit the road - they should not b able to see me thru the woods - but I walk hunched over where it hard to tell what I am
I killed one that I think was 7 years old at this spot doing this last year. I don’t think I hardly ever had one snort at me when I left - a few times I heard them run off - but they did not know what I was
The no snorts is huge

Appreciate the reply’s…yeah Tdog it’s in a spot down in a hole that even with the wind good, I’m still blowing does out. I tried coyote yapping with my mouth then climbing down silently in the dark though wasn’t completely pitch black…she still blew out of there and hope the buck I’ve been after wasn’t around/isn’t spooked

The only correct tip is STAY OUT OF THE WOODS If you hunt your gonna spook deer, get busted and hang your head
When I need expert advice I tend to talk to myself The older I get the better I used to be

^^^ 🤣🤣
Sounds like a tuff set up Gobble4me
It’s easier to set up stands for gun hunting to b spook free - w bow u usually right on top of - the dirt trail leading straight away from my small field and being able to keep me and the shooting house between deer helps - I can get out pretty silent on dirt trial in the woods
My big field in Clarke - i got the ground blind about 45 yards off the field (for gun hunting) - the way the timber is - b hard to push it any further away - if I could set it about 60-70 yards off the field - they would never know I was there - that’s ideal. Thats the best gun set up I hav. The other 2 gun stands I am about 10 yards off field - best I can do w timber being thick - on a windy day I can get out - I hunt those stands less to keep them fresh - if I never got detected - I could hunt more. I miss having a place where I could set up my stand and always leave undetected - the results hav been awesome when I can do this - how I got my mounters - pressure not as important - they never now u there - just hunt wind and your good
Hunt the wind - leave it better than you found it - love your neighbor as you love your self We need prayer for our country now more than ever

I have blown a trail in with a leaf blower but on my own property.. Deer didn't seem to care but the path was not 200 yards or anything.
In general the best you can do is wait until dark and move out as quiet as possible. IF it is noisy then consider how many times you really need to hunt that stand location.
No government employees were harmed in the making of this mess.

The deer I hunt don't spook as easy after dark, they know our hunting regs. I'm fine just as long as I don't stare at them or move directly towards them.
My main concern is them going down my scent trail and patterning me. Best way to avoid that is to not hunt the same spot too often.

I had a great spot years ago hunting a funnel next to a soybean field. But, I ran deer off every evening. My solution was if it was getting close to dark and the deer hadnt showed up yet I got out of there as quick as I could.
The other method is staying way past when you can see. I would stay over an hour in the dark to let them feed and leave. Deer are also less spoked in th middle of the night.
