Anything above 70°is to hot for me but a lot of deer are killed when it’s 80-90° in the early season

I'll hunt Sunday because of a schedule conflict on Saturday. How do you think warm temperatures impact hunting? It seems to me that deer move less when it is warm.

Being FL boy, I have archery hunted more than one after noon in shorts , carrying my shirt to my climber and didn't put it on until I stopped sweating.

My two biggest bucks period were in October above 80 degrees. In fact, the very biggest one was on Halloween day and it was 89 on my mirror when I parked--killed that deer at 2:30 (group of 6 racked bucks together). I don't have exacting data, but I would say half of my biggest bucks all time were all in October at near 80 degree temps.

We assign way too much importance to temperature, and I think it's simply folklore, or because we're fat boys who just don't like it ourselves (but the deer do not care). We've discussed this on here before, and 99/100 people disagree with me, but I believe temps make ZERO difference to the deer. In fact, if anything, I'd rather it be warmer than colder. I would also add that it's okay to be 80 degrees steady, or 30 degrees steady, but I can't stand hunting immediately after a swift change either way. My friends were giddy like kid's at Christmas about these past two 30 degree mornings, and I told them it would suck. Aaaaaand they've barely seen a deer. Meanwhile, I hunted all day Saturday and saw over 20 (including a group of racked bucks that afternoon in 84 degrees), I hunted Sunday afternoon (in 82 degrees) and saw several more (including bucks that were too far to shoot at), and I hunted Tuesday afternoon (it was colder and breezy) and saw 5 does. The colder it got, the less I saw. And that's ALWAYS my experience, over 30+ years.

Hunters get excited about "it's gonna be COLD tomorrow morning, they gon' move like crazy!!!" And I just roll my eyes. Always wanna say, they were moving like crazy yesterday afternoon when it was 85, has nothing to do with the temps, YOU just didn't want to be in it. And I can't prove this either, but I seldom get busted in hot temps in bow season. But I get busted more in cold weather later in the year. May just be pressure, not temps.

I killed a deer several years ago sitting in a stand wearing nothing but pants. I had shed my boots, socks, shirt, and was drinking a cup of sweet tea. Now, that was years ago when I was really after them. Now days I'm a fair weather hunter. I'm not getting in a stand an hour before day light. I'm not going if I don't have a way to stay warm. And I'm not going if I'm going to sweat.
