Chick-Fil-A in Daphne is packed! Parking lot is full and there's 30+ cars in line, wrapped around the building and almost out to US98. Great to see the "real Americans" stand for what we believe in. I plan on Lunch and supper today to show my support. I'll also eat there again as soon as I am in town.

Our family is having dinner at Chick-fil-A tonight at one of the Hoover locations. For us, this is unusual because fast food is normally grab and go when we are busy. But not tonight. We are going into the store, stand in line as long as we have to, order our food, and fellowship with other patrons who are like minded.
If it were not really out of the way, I'd go to the new store on Southside..the liberal mecca of Birmingham. hope that location gets the business too.

WAAY-TV reports that members of UA Huntsville's Gay-Straight Alliance want the restaurant shut down. GSA Founder and President Heather Shelton said having the restaurant on campus is not consistent with the university's anti-discrimination policy. She said the group plans to take up the issue with Sodexo, which operates the campus Chick-fil-A. Another student, Adelle Sutton, disagrees. Sutton said Chick-fil-A is a Christian company, and that people should be respectful of everyone's opinions. Chick-fil-A president Dan Cathy told the Baptist Press this month that the Atlanta-based company was "guilty as charged" for backing "the biblical definition of a family."

"Is the City Council going to set up a 'Council Committee on Un-Chicagoan Activities' and call those of us who are suspect to appear before it?," Cardinal George was quoted as saying. "Do not disrespect us...We, too, are Chicago," the story quoted Lyons as saying from the pulpit Sunday.
