An old charter captain buddy gifted me this boat over the weekend. He initially built it to guide bowfishing/gigging trips in Florida but decided he was too old and tired to do it. It's an interesting rig for sure, hull is completely homemade fiberglass over wood. It's 16' long, 8' wide and has 2' sides with a 30hp Nissan four stroke. I'm planning on slapping a fresh coat of paint on it (probably all black to get rid of the red) and I've got seven 100 watt Seelite LEDs that I'll put across the front. If it floats and runs good I may end up extending the deck on back a little more.

That’s a nice gift!

That'll be a sharp little rig.

Heck yeah
I'm no expert but I do believe the trailer may need more work than the boat

Just a thought, but the red could be to help hide/blend blood in the bottom of the boat

I'm definitely going to have to do something different with it, but I'm not sure what yet. The trailer itself is solid but the boat is too wide for it so he made those runners to get it up and over the tops of the fenders.

That should be amazingly stable. What are you going to use to push the boat while you're fishing? Trolling motor or fan? I can tell you for sure that you're going to want lights across the front and all the way down the side where the platform is. Most shots are at 10 and 2 direction wise. You'll have quite a few shots directly off the sides as well as out front.

I’ve got a trolling motor that’s gonna go on it. I don’t think I ever want another fan boat, we used to shoot tourneys off one and the constant drone of the fan drove me nuts. We’re gonna put the lights we have on it for now then add more once we’ve confirmed that it floats and does ok lol.
