So im about 12 days past my head injury. I had several CT scans while i was in the hospital. Two Neurologists said i would be fine without any surgery, which i am 100% good with. Im having some issues with my head. My hearing is gone in my left ear, its ringing constantly and im having some throbbing pain in my head right above my ear. My left eye is screwed up, it wont blink. The left side of my mouth has gone retarded. This all started 4-5 days ago, except my ear going deaf. I am hoping itll all clear up but it isnt so far. Just thinking about what i might do. I dont want to go to 25 different doctors, dont really even want to go to one. But if these issues dont clear up, i reckon im gona have to get some help.

First glad ur ok bud. I would prioritize what is most important first. I would probably have eye looked at first. Probably easiest dr to get into. Then ENT for eAr??!!

Did the issue with your eye and mouth start suddenly? Are you having any other issues with the left side of your body besides the hearing loss?

You need to see a Neurologist. Soon.

jwalker - I'm proud to see you post. As Fur said, I would recommend seeing a Neurologist. It may just take time to heal, but brain injuries can affect most anything on your body. Continued prayers Brother as you travel down the road to recovery.

This. You've already proved you are hard headed enough!! Go see a doctor even if it means you have to go back to the ER if you don't have a primary care. Did they not make some follow up appointments after you left the hospital? Glad to see you posting and go get healed up.

You probably have a palsy of a cranial nerve. You need to follow up with your NEUROSURGEON sooner rather than later. Or go to the ER. It is NOT Bell’s palsy. That’s from a viral infection that causes palsy of the nerve. You’ve had an injury and if you have new symptoms you need immediate follow up. I work in the ER and all about telling people NOT to go. In your case with a recent intracranial hemorrhage and new symptoms I would suggest you go tonight.

My wife took me to UAB a few days ago. I got two CT scans and talked to a Neurologist. He said it didnt look to bad. Several people have said its probably bells palsy.

If it’s Bell’s palsy time is about the only thing. I’d be back in that office though with any slight worsening. Nothing to play with.

The only advice I'd give you is borne from my own numerous experiences with doctors and specialists. Be your own advocate and don't let them rush you in and out and tell you you're fine if you know something is wrong. Hope you get some answers and relief.

Assuming they ruled out minor stroke from a clot, which it sounds like they did, I would lean towards Bell's Palsy also. Often times, that will go away on it's own. I'm no neurologist though!

Not a medical doctor! I'm glad you've gotten care and CT scan. Probably CN VII affected due to swelling. Follow up with your neurologist if it persists or gets worse. Do you have any changes in taste on the front 2/3's of your tongue?
