Had friend that ate mustard on oatmeal cookies.

My great grandfather’s favorite dessert was chocolate cake with brown gravy on it.
We never understood it, but when he passed, we asked my great grandmother about it. She told us that back in the depression when he grew up, they didn’t wash dishes between dinner and dessert. Pot roast was one of the cheapest and most filling meals families could eat, so it was popular. Chocolate cake was the cheapest dessert his mom could make, so when they had cake, she’d plop a piece down on his plate that had leftover gravy, and he’d eat it. So he spent his developing years eating chocolate cake with brown gravy, and it became his favorite. I think that was the same thing with PawPaw and the beans and cake.

OK. Y'all are going to think this is gross, but you have to try it.
Toast some rye bread Add crunchy peanut butter to both pieces Add slice of Vidalia onion. (Has to be Vidalia, no other onion is as sweet.) Put it all together in a sandwich.
It's kind of like eating peanut butter and apples together. You get the tartness of the Vidalia and the creamy saltiness of the peanut butter and they work well together.
Something else that's good...
Take some chocolate ice cream and eat it like a dip using Fritos Scoop corn chips. The saltiness and the sweet chocolate creaminess balance each other out.
Trust me. I'm Irishguy. I know food.
