Thank y’all! You probably really don’t want to hear my story. It’s pretty boring but I will tell you anyway.
First off I have been keeping tabs on this deer for three years. He was a decent 7 with long brows last year and I was going to kill him. By the time I saw him he had broken one of his brows and about a week later he broke the other brow off so I wouldn’t shoot him. Glad I didn’t because he made a big jump this year. To make a long story short, I have hunted this deer two years and the first time I lay eyes on him this season I am walking down the road carrying a bag of corn and look at the feeder and see a deer there eating. I turn around go back to the truck lay the bag of corn down and get my gun. I step across the road behind the shooting house on the ground and look through the scope and there stands the deer I have spent all this time hunting broadside at 100 looking at me. I take aim and down he goes. That’s really about all there was to it. Kinda sad I wasn’t really hunting yet but that’s just how it works sometimes. The only explanation I have is that he must have been frozen stiff to the ground and couldn’t run or either he knew it was going to be so cold tonight that he figured it would be better to go ahead and get it over with instead of freezing to death.
