I’ve never noticed a huge difference across the state in acorn crops like I have the last 2 years. I hunt Winston County exclusively.

Last year we had a bumper crop of acorns, kept the deer in the woods till January just about. I noticed last year some folks saying that they had no acorns.

Now this year our acorns were almost nonexistent. Seemed like most of Bankhead was that way as well. I see folks on here all the time talking about a bumper acorn crop this year.

What can cause it to be so different just an hour down the road? I’ve always been told your spring weather is what determines your acorn crop but I obviously need to learn a lot more to really understand it.
