Totally defeats the purpose of them.

And if you put them under bumper, then they will be buried in the mud! Best to just spell out "HELP" on your roof and keep them on at all times! If you use that you can add these same reverse lights to the trailer and they will come on when the truck is in reverse. The lights being at the back of the trailer will be of more use than an extra light on the bumper. If you use that option you could then connect the new bumper lights to the bed light (which controls the interior as well). I really only use the bumper light when I am locking a gate or doing something behind the truck. I love the etrailer site. Proud Army and ALNG veteran God Bless America!

ts1979flh 10 point Joined: Jul 2007 Posts: 3,304 Moulton	The truck I have now has the LEDs installed in the bumper itself and are wired into the reverse lights. It was that way when I bought it. I probably would have never cut holes in the bumper to do them that way. But, all in all, I like them and find them really useful. The truck has tinted windows and I rely on them when backing up in the dark. Even with the trailer hooked up with the four wheeler on it, they help. I rarely have to roll down the windows. If I do, it's usually in the rain where you can't see out the windows good anyway. I'd like to be able to turn them on without the truck in reverse, but I use the cab light for that purpose. It gives off enough light.
