My old 700 has a very light trigger pull now. The X trigger on my 308 sux by comparison.

When you buy a new m700, the first thing to do is remove the POS XMark trigger and put it in the only place it should be...

I've got Jewell, Timney, and the old Remington Walker trigger reworked by Isaac Gallagher. All are great triggers. Jewell is the most pricey. Never tried any others.

If you live in Wetumpka - there used to be a gunsmith in Tallassee (Holcomb Kerns) that can take a factory trigger and make it light, smooth and break like glass. He did both of mine and they are fantastic triggers.

If he is still doing it - he works out of his house on Pecan Street in Tallassee, AL.

Yep ... The old Walker triggers aren't hard to adjust and maintain as long as you know what you are doing.
