Gonna roll 25/30 next week. Using a trap to site in sure takes the sting off TSS cost Sure does. I paid for my trap probably twice in recovered shot.

What’s gets annoying is when you test 20 gauge, clean it as well as you can, then shoot .410. I tend to STILL find 9’s mixed with 9.5s. I saw a thread on gobbler nation some time back where this guy mic’d the shot sizes, found the correct drill bits, then built a contraption that would sift the shot sizes out and he would be left with clean shot sorted in the correct sizes. I may do that one day.

There’s no way I’m paying that for shells to kill a dumb turkey. Killed a plenty of them I could fill a truck bed. I may have to shoot them at 35-40’ as opposed to the 60-70’ but that means I’ll enjoy the hunt more with the same outcome. After all I spend on turkey hunting……$8 shell is about the cheapest part

I still shoot the XRs. Deadly to 65 and half the cost. I have barely had a turkey flop since I started shooting XR's years ago. I guess everyone has their preference, but I really like the XR's, too.

The last 10 turkeys I’ve killed (several years worth) have come from a 25 round box of 3” 20 gauge #6 pheasant loads. This year I’ll still be working on the same box. Hope my kids kill a couple before me. Think I paid 17.00 for the box…😂

Hmmm I would like to see that Rob. Im sure I can fashion something up. Honestly I don’t even use my trap much or have the need to pattern my guns anymore.

Is this 20ga or 12ga? I shoot a 12 gauge. I started out shooting #6's in 3.5, but one year I couldn't find 6's anywhere. So, I started shooting #5's in 3.5. They do great. For awhile, I couldn't find 3.5 inch shells. So, I have some 3 inch shells in #5, too. They work fine, too. The only way I shoot past 40 yards is if I misjudge the distance. I misjudged one bad last year. LOL.
