Do clubs set rules like they do on deer. Beard length? Spur length? No Jake’s? Leave a gobbler for breading? Don’t kill them all?
2 turkeys per member? No hunting on certain days and no roosting a bird? Decoys? Just checking if any are set.

Turkey are self regulating for rhe most part. The only real problem I've seen is if feeders are left running. Have a killer divide into sections big enough and sign out.

Outside of maybe no jakes and a 2 or 3 bird limit (because of property size)...I imagine it'd be a dumb*** rule! I'd like to see the man that can judge beard and spur length! Bahaha! Bullsh**!

There exist people who will put a flock of high dollar decoys on a groomed bait plot and look at spurs with binoculars. Some of these people tour the country stacking bodies every Spring.

I have no idea why.

No jakes. Other than that, I’ll kill without discrimination. Equal opportunity and everyone gets a serving.

Hav sign out area - sign out area needs to be big enough to hunt

Some dummies will go in at 10 at night amd sign n best spot - seen it diff times at diff clubs - if u hav Losers - u will hav to hav a set sign n time (no sign n before ???)

Your best turkey on entire place may not hav a beard - no jakes is common rule - but full fan and no beard he dies - seen a 1 3/4 spur w no beard and multiple other studs w no beard

Hunt the wind - leave it better than you found it - love your neighbor as you love your self

No camping out on green fields and deer hunting them over decoys.

How in the hell would you set a spur length on turkeys?

It wouldn't surprise me if someone tried to do that even though it would be completely impossible to do.

Shoot nothing but adult birds and do everything humanly possible within reason to improve habitat quality..otherwise..you can have real set backs on bad hatch year murkin every gobblin bird..but if you can reliably replenish the supply every year bust away..alot of places tho are already limpin on poor habitat and still tryin to whack every bird they can..my kinfolks have got a place down around livingston..its got pretty poor habitat in places..and mediocre in others..just by the sheer fact that the area has always had a robust population that is very resilient and nomadic..they have not managed to wipe them out..but they try every year..there might be 2..maybe 3 gobblin birds on about 900 acres and 6-10 dudes try their best to kill all of them every year..30 years ago you could hear 25 birds gobblin..go 5 miles down the road an hear 25 more….the dynamic has changed..ag and timber lost, and hundreds of acres of poorly managed pine plantation has about rendered the land nigh unusable for turkeys..but beacause there is such a harty remnant population..there are still a few pokets hangin around on us..but most all the birds we had have moved on to more desirable lands further away. If we thinned and burned just a little bit..wed have more than we knew what to do with..and probly still too many people hunting them..it dont pay to have alot of hunters on mediocre land. Thats my two cents..but i probly dont know what im talkin about

No jakes. Full fan/rolling gobble he’s getting it. If he acts like the man he’s gonna get treated that way. Tom is my buddy who runs the Dime Store

Depends on the realistic expectations of the habitat and number of members and size of property. The reality of how many turkeys you have. I’ve heard of property’s limiting the overall numbers of birds to be killed, first come first serve. In other words either every one is allowed one bird or two birds, or a total number can be harvested from a property and it’s first come first serve until you reach your state initiated bag limit. I lease sole turkey rights, so I don’t play that game.

I thought that was funny on spur length but kept my trap shut

I hav killed a couple spurless toms - not my favs and did not know they were when i shot but i took them - one weighed 25 pounds in KS. He ran off like he never been hit but fell just inside tree line on a small clover patch i was sitting on. Another one came out same spot looked just like him amd i did not shoot thinking he must been too far - u use to could kill more than one in a day at ks
