I wouldn’t go with A team charters if he was the only one down there. Everyone else alhawk suggested are good guys . As far as I’m concerned Bobby can ingest a satchel of richards .

No need for hiring a guide when you have alhawk, SBS and others on here that know the area. If you need any help surf fishing I’ll be glad to help you. grin

Good luck, have fun and enjoy what you worked hard for.

I was waiting on someone to say this lol. He can fish, but a lot of people think he is a prick as well.

Went out with D I Reef Monster (Spencer Kight) back in August. Very knowledgeable captain.
He kept us on fish all day

You probably wouldn't have an issue getting locals that know the area to come on your boat and fish with you for the day and help show you the area just to spend a day fishing. I know would be happy to.

West end on the Canals.

Put a light on your dock and you can catch all the specks you want at night from a comfortable chair while enjoying adult beverages or whatever your preference is. When you get tired, toss them in a cooler with a bag of ice and get up the next morning and clean them. Moving water is your friend, learn how to watch and read the tides and you'll catch more fish than you know what to do with.

Hit the nearshore oil/gas platforms just past the lighthouse next month and catch all the Sheephead you care to clean......

Thanks guys. A-team was booked up because they were running an awesome Mardi Gras special, but I booked a trip early next month with Ugly Fishing.

Specs are going to still not going to be in their summer pattern, which is a whole different kind of fishing than a winter or transition pattern.

My plan is to take a guide or somebody knowledgeable out each of the seasons.

I’ll take all the help I can get. I’m gonna reach out to some of you guys once I bring the boat down.

I don’t think there will be any blackfish in the bay this summer. I wouldn’t even target those. Just stick with reds and specs.

You will have a great time and he will do his best to put you on the fish.
Sheepshead will be more fun than specks IF the winds allow.

Best advice I can give you is don’t let the person know you are on a scouting trip. It’s frustrating when you take a guy one day then see him at that place on his boat the following. Kind of like talking someone to your public land secret spot then seeing him and and his buddies camped out there.
