Eye sight started at 55 , real stiffness , nagging aches and pains at 60 . I'm 63 now . After reading this thread I'm feeling pretty good, some of y'all sound like you're all to pieces. Oh , and you know you've arrived when you don't have to ask for the senior discount. ![laugh laugh](/forum/images/graemlins/default/laugh.gif)

I felt invincible up to 37, then it all changed. I'm 49 now.

I had a senior patient give me some good advice years ago. She was 80+ and doing really well physically and mentally. Her quote to me was "A moving part never rusts." Let that sink in. Think of all the old nuts on bolts, hinges, pivots, chains, ect. that you've see. They just sit there and and are never turned, used, or otherwise functioning, so they lock up and are useless. That goes for the mind too. I've tried to stay active. My job requires me to be up and moving a lot. I don't sit at a desk very much. But I don't get much "exercise." Just this week though we joined the gym that is operated by our cardiologist's office. It's right across the street from our home so it's super convenient. Not a muscle head or gym rat kind of place. Just a place folks like us can go to get some cardio and some exercise. We start next week.
To answer your question. I still feel young but little things like knees and I've noticed I'm not nearly as heat tolerant now in my 50's as I was in my 20's and 30's.

Bronco - I am the same age as you - I feel it bit I refuse to Stop doing what I do and that's fish , hunt , ride the tractor etc.
I believe the more you push yourself the younger you will Stay - better to move than sit Hard to do when your joints are bone to bone lol I had a TKR Nov01 and just pushed a early date to do the other Apr18. Doc said he's giving me 2 weeks since he usually makes people wait 6mos lol. My left knee hurt so bad I stopped hunting with the rut in full swing. Shots didn't work. If ya haven't done anything for the joints that hurt, I'd start getting options to fix them.

Approaching 58 and I don't sit around often. My brain thinks my body can do the things from my 20s at the same speeds but, I'm a little slower speed wise lol. Between knees, lumbar, cervical, and a couple nerve issues I have things that can flare up but, I think staying active prevents some of the flare ups. I retired at 56 and I did so to enjoy my passion in the outdoors and I'm out daily. Sometimes only an hour or two, most of the time a half day, or all day. People can bust on where I live all they want but my freedoms in my little rural area outweighs what a bunch of clowns are up to 2hrs or in any other part of the Country. I literally have 34 million public acres to hunt and recreate on for FREE and thousands of those acres are walking distance from my house. For those aching, rent a bike and see how it goes, it's easier on the legs than walking and go from there.

Im 45 and have not slowed down yet. I committed to 3-4 days a week at the gym and Im as strong as Ive ever been. BUTTTTTTT
I do however do a few things differently now. Eg: I traded my butt seat in for a Millennium Bill dance style. I absolutely hate it but I cant fish all day with my back anymore while standing. I still stand some. I also look for easier ways to do about anything I do now (Smarter not Harder) I can tell the day is coming tho
Its not the will to win but the will to prepare to win!

58 and I'm 61 now. I've slowly discovered the causes of some of my issues and feel better than I did a year ago. I'm losing strength quickly and get cramps in both hands constantly. Just started to have bubble gut a lot but eating yogurt has helped that. I used to hit the gym nearly every day but got to where I hurt so much it was making that worse. I need to get back going. Just got to get my head right.
