I'm 50. Hit me hard at 40, and I learned real quick that if you don't do anything you'll feel like crap, and hurt. You have to do whatever you can do exercise wise. Just do something. I have artificial hips and bad arthritis in my wrists, hands, shoulders, but as long as I do something I dont hurt as bad. Planks, crunches, ride a bike, walk, anything I can do that my body will let me do. It's vital, and it doesn't really take that much to make you feel better, just do something every day. Not trying to win the cross fit games here, just trying to move and put whatever resistance on my muscles I can get away with.

Ironic that this topic was posted. I am 58 and just recently started telling my wife I feel old. I have some sort of aches and pains every day but I stay active playing golf, disc golf, fishing and hunting. I try to never waste a day sitting inside but those days happen. I realize that I can help my body by eating better and reducing the alcohol but honestly, it's hard to be retired, living at the beach and not drink.

My body started feeling old at 42 after my treestand fall. That aged my body 20 years.

I'll be 59 next month. About 10 years ago all the fun I had when I was younger came back to remind me I didn't really heal. Everything hurts most mornings.
Life is a journey. Make sure and bring plenty of Beer.
My luck has been so bad lately, it could be raining pussies and I'd catch one with a dick broke off in it.

The short answer is: Probably when I hit 40. I was competing in full contact martial arts in the senior division and in one year, broke several ribs, two fingers, two toes and suffered a partially detached retina. So I gave all that up. I was pretty frustrated at myself that year. The long answer is: I don't know, I'm still weightlifting at 62 years old, and I am actually poised (Barring any significant injuries...) to set personal records in the Squat, Bench and Deadlift. Yes my joints can and do sometimes hurt, but I take turmeric for that and as long as I'm consistent with that I feel pretty good for a grandfather that lifts more and heavier than just about any young people that I know of. Here's the thing... Age is only a number. Stay active, stay fit, and keep moving. I personally believe that strength training is extremely important as we age. I'm currently training to be the baddest ass 90 year old you have ever seen. ![grin grin](/forum/images/graemlins/default/grin.gif)

60 is definitely hitting different, but I think I realized I wasn’t bulletproof in my 50s.

59 an reallys bother me look in mirror an see age in my eyes. I feel way better than I look. Reading glasses at 45 . Other than that I’m good. Never been sick a day in my life that I can remember, except couple kidneys stone. Worked very hard my whole life in logging business. If not working I’m look for something to do. I never sit unless I’m sleeping . Wish I knew how to just sit a relax. I raced dirtbikes offroad for years . Offroad races 2 hrs long alway kept me in shape . I can still do it just in senior class . Never had kids kept stress down I guess. I do know I’m really blessed with my health at my age . I can do anything I could in my 30s except for endurance. God has been really good to me an im thankful every single day .
