I’ve had a pair last a long time. Mainly use them for scouting and planting now

I don't have anything good to say about Rocky. Sandwich maker likes her Irish Setter. I've never owned snake boots.

A lot of that ground down in for sure Rio country doesn't grow anything much other than salt cedar and rocks. You wouldn't hunt in the cedars. I think you might be ok with just good leather hiking boots. I have done a lot of hiking to find a rio on a ranch.

Snake boots eventually leak after a few seasons. Just get some gaiters and wear whatever you like

I had 2 pair of Rocky's. I won't have another.

Both had the sole separate after less than one year.

I bit the bullet and bought Danners. If these Danners wear out, I'll buy another pair of them, no questions asked.

Love mine. Treat them with sno-seal every season and use clear shoe goo to seal up any noticeable places they leak and they’ll be good to go. The light weight and comfort makes them worth having to doctor them to keep them dry

I have had lots of snake boots as well. A few years ago I switched to just rubber boots with a snake proof gaiter (turtle skin).

This probably goes without saying, but break them in ahead of time. You think you walk a lot turkey hunting in Bama? It didn’t compare with the few trips I took to Texas. It’s bigger out there 😂

You guys were hiking boots must never have to cross a creek. I can’t stand having wet feet.

A creek to get wet in out there may be hard to come by.

I could never turkey hunt without rubber boots for that reason or another.

Y'all just gotta learn to call good enough to make him cross the creek, instead of you crossing it.

Same. I love mine. Had them for I don’t know how many years. Got a leak on both where my foot bends. I need to fix before season. I’ve had a pair of Danner Sharptail regular boots and loved them. I’ve been eyeing their snake boot. Haven’t pulled the trigger yet.
