I was just looking at the westervelt thread in the land and leases forum and it got me to thinking. Several of us could go in together and get a big lease in S. FL. and come out much cheaper than paying for a guided hunt. Looks like a FL lease is going for 5-6 an acre. Just an idea.

We need to get Neils number. He might cut us a deal if BG isnt using it. I bet we could get a hog or two.
Do you want to hear him gobble, or do you want to kill him.

Sounds like a plan to me and I bet he would let us hog hunt it for almost nothing. I want the gator in the ditch out front though. I found his info before by searching his full name and it pulled up his car washes and repair shops.

level, from what I found westervelt only had land in the panhandle/pcb area of the state. I would love to find some land that was in the central or south zones so I could hunt early in the year, preferably south so it would be before AL's season opens. I know it is out there, but I bet it is the most sought after land in america right now. I am working on my last staw in South Fl right now for a place to turkey hunt and if it works out I will be happier than a puppy with three peters. If you know of any corporate farms please let me know so I can check into them.

Too much free land to pay that much.

WOW, I just checked on a place in S. FL. that leases land out and they have ranges for memberships on existing leases on a questionaire you have to fill out. The first and cheapest price brackett is $5-7K a year just for a membership on an existing lease and it goes up to 31+K a year for a membership. I'll be the guy hunting public land.

I'll be the guy hunting public land. 31K a year for hunting rights, that dude must make some jack. Thats just silly, even if you have the best hunting in the world. What could he be hunting thats worth that kind of money?

Besides it is not about the hunting I am sure when you pay that much. It is sort of like being a member of a polo club and not even owning a horse. You know how expensive that land down there is where we are at. There is no way the common man could lease the land around where we hunted.
