The straight away shot is the one I'd probably always avoid. Target is pretty much base of the tail not taking that one.Broadside hind qtr I'm not thinking twice he bout to die.

great question. If given the opportunity before reading this post i probably would have passed. Now that i have read this discussion, i'm probably going to think hard about taking it and not taking it and get caught in a mental delimma. while i'm at war in my head he will run off before i squeazed the trigger and I would be kicking myself in the balls for not shooting sooner. with a bow? that will be a big NO!

You've been hunting this buck for 3 yrs and this is the first time you laid eyes on him. Other than trail cam pics and the huge tracks you would have never known he existed.He has busted out of a cutover chasing a doe crossed the holler and finally hears you shouting at him.He's stopped broadside at 75 yds just inside of the cutover only thing showing are hind qtrs. You got 5 seconds you shootin or not? I've passed on deer because I didn't like the shot I had and I've shot at deer that I shouldn't have. Just being honest. This scenario, to answer honestly, I just don't know ridgestalker. It would just have to happen to see if I shot or not. What kind of season I'd been having may have an influence on that decision as well.
Always remember that safety comes first. Then pull the trigger.
