Check for tracks and strut marks on the loading ramp and down the logging roads. That will tell you a lot. Sounds like you have a nice place to hunt, if all else fails start out on the highest point and listen. You will learn a lot about a place if you spend all day on it listening. They’ll be in the hay fields if it’s drizzling rain, they can’t see in the woods when it’s raining

Someone mentioned this earlier, and just as a general rule of thumb, I don't make a sound before I hear the first crow. I rarely hoot like an owl unless I need to get a better course on one that has already gobbled.
