My general routine is being quiet and listening. If it's been gobbling time for a little bit and none are talking, I hoot with my mouth a few times to see if I can get one to sound off. If I'm trying to cut the distance to one, I can usually make him gobble by hooting instead of standing around waiting for him to gobble again before moving on. The only thing that I've had work as good as a hoot owl (maybe better) is another gobbler or gobbler call. I've never been good at gobbling on a call. Still looking for something that sounds good.

Locator calls are a Piddlers best friend. I use them much less than I used to. Having said all that I can Cho my hands and make a pretty good coyote call. Works as good as anything
