My sister is hot for a UTV. She will use it for lite hauling (firewood, a bag or two of fertilizer, tools, chain saw, etc.,). I don't know enough about them to make a recommendation.
What's your experience with one of these to help her find the best deal for the most reliable machine? Secondly, what dealer do you recommend?
Thanks,

I have a polaris Ranger and a Kabota. The kabota has all the bells and whistles. Heat, A/C, Real Glass windshield and door windows, Stereo, Diesel Engine, etc. but, it is slowwwww. If she is going to use it for anything other than what you described, I'd go Ranger. My ranger has a fully enclosed cab with full doors, etc and I use it most of the time because of the speed. Now, If I'm just driving around the farm sipp'n whiskey, the Kabota is nice.

As stated, the Kubota is slow and heavy. The one I ran traps off of required 4wd in places a Ranger Crew 570 handled in 2wd. Did I mention it was loud ?
"Cull" is just another four letter word...

Loud and slow I would say you could about narrow them down to that! Sounds like a good fit for a polaris, try and find a good deal on a lightly used 1 row. I like the Mules, but for some reason they get a bad rap I guess for not having locking front diff, I've never owned one. Currently have a Polaris that has needed a little TLC on it with me as the 2nd owner, but I don't think that's the fault of the cart. Canam's are super nice if you want to spend a little more.

Are those your local dealership brands or are you set on those brands? Honda 500 is a smaller sxs with no box bed. Iāve seen some with a flat bed and pocket stakes for wagon sides. Iām not sure if they have turf mode or not, though (like a live axle so it tears up the yard when turning). CanAms are nice machines, too, as are any of the others mentioned above.

If sis is old, slow and canāt hear good, sheāll pair well with the Kubota.
Otherwise a Polaris is what she seeks.
I have a 10 year old Polaris still running strong with zero issues.
You're only as good as your worst shot-

I love my Kubota but I agree she is heavy and slow. But on the upside I can pull my pontoon around with it with no worries, it all depends on your specific needs.

I have a Polaris Ranger XP1000 I bought new in 2019 and have had the brake sensor replaced but other than that it's been a great machine. Brother has one a couple years older on his farm and has had good experience.
