I've read that the New Coke wasn't a fail. Coke wanted to change ingredients but knew there would be backlash, so they purposely made the New Coke bad. They put it out and when everyone hated it, they said OK we'll go back to original. The trick is, they changed the ingredient when they went back "original" and no one noticed.

i've always bellieved Coke did it on purpose, too. I'd have to go back to check, but I don't believe any heads rolled about it and pretty much it was, "Oops, we screwed up. Sorryyyyyy!" I always figured they just wanted a bump with publicity. But adding the new ingredient afterward, like you said, also wouldn't be surprising.

Whether it was on purpose or not, New Coke was a disaster and they lost a significant market share to Pepsi. Coke had a lead in the market and Pepsi became equal in the market after New Coke.

I’ve always liked Original Coors. For HOT days on the boat, Coors Light is hard to beat.

I’m leaning way more towards bourbon these days. Beer just bloats my ass.

Best beer I've ever had was a Falls City, ice cold on a hot July day.

I like the Yuengling Flight. I think I'll switch to that.

The thing I like about drinking local beers is, not only are most of them really good, but you are supporting local people who work at a craft they love. Some of their kids probably go to the same schools your kids go to.

Yep. In a lot of states the craft breweries are constrained by law on how much they can sell/produce without going through distribution, thus keeping them from competing with the big bev companies. Would love to see that changed. I think a lot of folks would much prefer the local craft brew options than the mass produced Pilsner that big bev churns out.

I’m not a beer snob, but once you get a hold of some good beer, the coors, bud, miller, Michelob just taste like water. Imo
Yuengling is my go to “in stock” beer.
Of course I think the older I get the more food and drink has to be flavorful for me to be able to taste it! Lol
