Didn’t hear a peep this morning but yesterday the bird I missed a few weeks ago was tearing it up.

Would walk over a naked woman to get to a gobblin turkey!

Good gobbling morning in my corner of the world. First gobble at 5:20. I had my 4 year old son with me so it was a rodeo. He fell asleep in my lap around 630 but woke up excited when I killed one a little after 7. Worked a pair for about an hour and they finally broke over the hill to us after their hen walked off. My first double bearded turkey. 10" and 6" beards, though the second beard was pretty thin. 1 1/8" spurs. My son thinks this turkey hunting thing is easy. He's been 3 mornings and seen 2 dead turkeys.

Sometimes it is easy, and sometimes I wonder how I have ever killed one at all. LOL.

That's the truth! He'll learn that one day if he sticks with it long enough. Right now he's king turkey killer and no one can tell him any different, and that's fine by me. Walked into daycare saying he shot a turkey this morning.

Today was the first time I’ve hunted alabama in May since the DNR screwed up our season in the southern part of the state. I heard a turkey gobble and he gobbled pretty decent. I eventually saw the turkey but he was not interested in coming to a call. It just doesn’t feel right hunting down here this late. Due to poor planning and an Ohio connection ghosting me I’m forced to hunt here or call it a season. I’ve had a good season so no complaints but I sure don’t want it to be over just yet.

Hate to see it end too Squeaky! Hav not worked birds n weeks - but still hate to see it go especially when we get cool mornings - tomorrow may b our last good day.

I called over a logging ramp this morning as i was leaving - i put a camera out here few weeks back - 35 min later a strutter was on ramp. Think it was same strutter as i got here last week w hens. I think it is same bird i fooled w in this area last few years - he only turkey that roost in this area and he hardly ever gobbles - heard him some last year - usually only one gobble - he did gobble 5-6 times one hunt last year - called him in - busted me. Think this is the same dude - I gone b real patient n morning - he prob a no show and pretty sure he want say nothing

I had a giant spurred bird pass my blind at big field in deer season amd proceed to push gobblers all over the field and whipped on one back n deer season - i think this may b him

Good luck guys - i will need some luck

My last day to hunt is tomorrow. Wedding this weekend and gona say the heck with it. Been chasing the same bird 2 weeks now. I’ll be setting out every decoy I have a flock. Mayeven borrow a few. He looks at me and walks the other way at 70-80 yards. I think he knows my calls. Even if I get him in range he may live he’s been a fun hunt. I post up tomorrow.
