Winchester isnt in the heavier than lead wagon any more. At one time they were prob the leader in turkey loads ( not that they have slipped much). They went to the long beard formula for lead and haven't budged from there. The heavier than lead xtended ranges were some great loads

Don’t get me wrong here. I still have a box of xx 5’s and a box of long beard 5’s. The LB 5’s are actually my second round for a follow up shot if need be. I just figured they would have a heavier than lead round.

It is surprising that they haven't gotten more involved. I never tried them, but a lot of folks liked those extended range shells. I think that they were 13g/cc but they were perfectly round and performed better than Hevishot.
I never had any problem killing turkeys with the lead high velocity Winchester Supreme 3.5" shells using #4 shot. They were advertised at 1300 fps, but my chrony said they were 1370 using a turkey choke. They kept a reliable killing pattern in my gun all the way to 50 yds. But it makes my shoulder hurt to even think about shooting one. Nothing else I've ever shot could kick like those shells.

PCP, they do kick harder . Federal's do as good in both my 12 and 10ga but Winchester seems to thump the shoulder a little more . Copper plated

I’ve got four of those supreme elites #6’s left for my 12g. I’ll hold onto those for as long as I have that gun
