Who’s the best athlete you’ve seen play in person? My athlete pool is going to be very shallow as I have never been to an NBA or NFL game and only a few MLB games. That said, I guess the top of my list would be Ken Griffey Jr. Saw him hit one out to center in Texas in the late 90s.

Tiger, Aaron Rogers, Ozzie Smith, McGuire they were all amazing to watch in person but by far the best is Michael Jordan. Funny thing is I never saw him play basketball, just baseball

Steve McNair. Hands down. Not that my options are very wide, but that man was a freak.

I played against the all-time leading rusher for Alabama High School football......Mac Campbell. I was a sophomore playing outside linebacker so I actually got to see him one on one a good bit when we played them running pitches and sweeps, etc to my side .......He was decent running back but he didnt seem like someone who would end up rushing for 10,000 yards.

Got to run beside Bo at the Pat Dye Camp in the early 80s. Unbelievable how something that big could move that fast.

Bo’s definitely best I’ve ever seen.

Reading about Jim Thorpe, that guy was freakish in everything he did.

Definitely Bo. Also got to see the mid 80's Celtics with Bird, McCale, Parrish when I was stationed up there. One game they were playing the Atlanta Hawks, so got to see Dominique Wilkins.

My luck has been so bad lately, it could be raining pussies and I'd catch one with a dick broke off in it.

I remember people saying more than fifty years ago that Joe Namath could have played professional football, basketball, and baseball.

Hands down was the best all around athlete I’ve ever seen
I could run the 40 in the high 4’s and he could easily best me
We were both 71” tall but I was 175 lbs and was 225 lbs
He could slam a basketball at will
Never played a down of football or basketball because he had to leave school and go cut and load a pulpwood truck by hand so his dad could haul it to the mill the next morning
He was Valedictorian of our class and got a full ride to UA and never went because he had to work to help his family

When I need expert advice I tend to talk to myself
The older I get the better I used to be

Bo Jackson is the best, hands down. BUT----The next best athlete never made it into the college ranks in the state of Alabama..

Ossie Jones played for Colbert County on the 72 Championship team that won the football and basketball championships. Ossie was never timed in the 40, but he was the fastest on the team. He could dunk a basketball standing flatfooted under the goal. Ossie was only 5'10" tall when you stretched him out. He was a great young man and was a true terror on the court or the field. If anyone in North Alabama played Colbert County during the '70s, you will remember him. He was a lot better athlete than Ozzie Newsome, Thad Flanagan, and Phil Gargis who all were on the same team. The reason for his not making it to the next level was his classroom abilities. Even in the 70's you had to be able to spell your name to move up. It is hard to believe the 72 team played over a half-century ago. There will never be another team in the state with the players that the team had.

I can't stand a thief.

in high school, bobby majors and john hannah: majors playing football (incredible elegance and speed and vision, and what a punter), and hannah wrestling and track and field (vicious speed, quickness, and strength in wrestling; strength, agility, speed in shotput and discus) ...

In person it was #34 , but the one from Jawga last name Walker. Never saw Bo in person , but I doubt he has an equal . I've seen Griffey Jr. and a whole bunch more on the baseball field . Best I ever saw on a HS football field was Cadillac Williams. He was a man playing with boys.
