The pizza delivery fee is what covers the insurance, gas, and vehicle wear, for the car and driver. Mostly its insurance. Dominos, Pizza Hut, Papa John's, etc... have all been sued hard by insurance companies over the years for drivers getting in accidents. The driver gets about $1.00 per delivery for gas and vehicle wear. I believe this is true. We don't have any food delivery way out here in the country where I live, but if we did I would tip pretty high considering what it's costing drivers to do their job with their own vehicle.
