COVID lockdowns. COVID bailouts. Reauthorization of the Patriot Act and FISA. Budget. In that order.

I was in Savannah this week and had a black gentleman as an Uber driver one night. If the way he talked is any indication of the things to come then the democrats are about to be shocked at how bad they lose the African American vote. Nope. You see he is working man. So many others just want to insure their handout do not end. The handouts only go so far! People take those EBT cards to a grocery store at the first of the month and find out they can buy about half of what they used to, in order to get through the month. Gas prices are insanely high and the cost of living continues to increase. I mean, the democrats are back on the tax the richest 1% BS. The reality of it is the most of the wealthiest people in America are all democrats! Even Elon Musk, who has stated that he will probably vote Republican for the first time.

COVID lockdowns. COVID bailouts. Reauthorization of the Patriot Act and FISA. Budget. In that order. The Patriot Act was the worst law ever. It gave the Federal Government access to everything in our lives, with no accountability. Damn, Congress about 3 years ago, gave the FBI unfettered access to our browsers including passwords and so forth. It's almost like it is time to cut up all credit cards, get a flip phone (not sure they even make the old ones without tracking devices), get off all social media and throw out all smart tvs from our homes. The smartest thing that Trump has always done is NEVER use email. He does not have a personal email account. Business is done face to face or over the phone.

Lot of experts on here. Trump was blindsided with an intentionally released man made pandemic that nobody knew anything about. No history of treatments whatsoever. No idea what this thing would do. People were dying at an alarming rate. I say Trump did an outstanding job trying to combat Covid. Dems pounced, calling him xenophobic and racist. It sure is easy to look back now and criticize. We don't have to look back. There were several of us who did a little digging in March of 2020 to find out what was driving the panic and over reaction. What we found was every country that was locking down was doing so based on Imperial College's Covid Model that was funded by climate change wacko Jeremy Grantham. We also found a quote from Grantham at a world conference that said covid will be one of the best things to happen for the climate change agenda to get fast tracked. This model was cited as the basis for Trump and other world leaders over abundance of caution. Now, if a few rednecks on a website can figure that out in a few days surely the president and his people should have been able to do the same. He could have also looked to South Korea or Switzerlands response and taken a cue from those who weren't panicking. No matter what excuses are made he owns responsibility for the vaccine and handing the country over to Fauci. The threads about Imperial College and Grantham are still here if you want to go back and fact check me.

Wait for it Wait for it He just can’t keep his mouth shut who gives a damn???? Exactly The fact that 1000 news channels and social media outlets ran small clips of things he said, then told you what he meant and how you should feel about it certainly played into this. Reckon Bush#2 was a smarta**? Just look at him. What about obummer, reckon he said things that would upset people? Of course but it wasnt played on the news repeatedly. Trump was set up and lied about every day he was president. The things that came out of his mouth could not begin to compare to the actions of all the presidents before him. They were all criminals. But Trump is a bad man for the mean thigs he said. How many lives ended bcause of the 4 or 5 presidents before him? How many people are still dying today because of them? They sold out our country and we are against the one man who tried to do something about it because he said mean things? Thats dumb as crap.

As for the reason for "panic", millions of deaths globally tend to get your attention real quick. There was no response to it that would be free from criticism. No matter what he did, people would look back years later and criticize him for it.

People were dying and I do think many of the federal and state administrative medical field honestly thought we were dealing with a bio weapon at worst and a pandemic in the least. It was overplayed and grasped to get rid of trump. Trumps biggest fault is his personal attacks in the most childish of ways. He can attack but keep it above board and mail them with facts. He starts there and then quadruples down in the worst of ways He also had or was convinced to pump the banks and it wasn’t mentioned which did hurt the economy down the road. It think he was convinced if he slowed the economy would’ve tanked under him.

I didn't hate Trump's accolades, voted for him both times, would do so again, and in my 49 years that's the best economy and "easy times" I've experienced, but he was just so "unprofessional". I require a higher level of dialogue than Trump gave. Trump had the come off of any low-level redneck I know. There's a demographic who really was attracted to him, and it's because he acted like them. The demographic who likes Trump the most, knows the least about government. The highest office on earth, and that's the best we could get?? It is absolutely possible to achieve and provide everything Trump's tenure did, and be polished in speech, wit, socialization, and appearance. Problem is, the "Talladega infield drunk" (don't act like that ain't who has Trump stickers on their truck and wears MAGA hats) hates the polished man. The same two dudes could literally be identical in platform, but they'll vote for Trump because he debates like the half-wit schoolboy at a drunk high school party trying to fight everybody.
Point is, I don't hate Trump, but we can get what he got with helluva lot more polish, commensurate with the highest position on the planet. You can be a badass and not wear it on your sleeve nonstop.

On a side note i was digging trough a bunch of covid threads trying to find the Imperial College one. There are a bunch of folks on here that would cringe in the worst way if those ever got brought back up. Seems a bunch of Trump supporters were actually scared to the point of favoring gestapo tactics. They wanted the government to shut it all down and us hide until it was over. I have little hope left for our country.

Bill - this is what I found as the funding source(s) for the study in the article that you posted the link for: "This work was supported by Centre funding from the UK Medical Research Council under a concordat with the UK Department for International Development, the NIHR Health Protection Research Unit in Modelling Methodology and Community Jameel." Where are you seeing Jeremy Grantham funded it? And he wasn't really wrong on this specific Q&A from: ( https://www.thinkadvisor.com/2020/03/13/gmos-grantham-sees-a-silver-lining-in-coronavirus-crisis/): Are there any other effects that the coronavirus pandemic will have on the fight to save the earth from climate change? This is a perfect example that even this ill wind is benefiting something. In this case, it’s [fighting] climate change. If everyone travels less, stays at home and plays it safe for a while, then pollution goes down and traffic deaths go down. More or less everything unpleasant goes down for a while to mitigate the unpleasantness of coronavirus.
