Roy Jones Jr. was a very impressive human in his prime. He grew up in Pensacola, and have met him. In his prime, he was awesome to watch. He lives in the woods near Pace, Fl. My brother has played basketball against him in 3 on 3 tournaments and said he is a really good basketball player. He also likes to offshore fish.

Yeah, I drive by his house every day going to work, on Quintette. When I've met him he was a very cool guy.

My luck has been so bad lately, it could be raining pussies and I'd catch one with a dick broke off in it.

Athletic family - his brother held the longest field goal for decades in Alabama highschool amd he went on to play for the Bear
Our field goal kicker tied the record against Albertville back in about 1993 with a 60 yarder......He was so amped up he kicked it through the uprights again on the kickoff

Feller from Bridgeport, held the record a long time with 56 yarder kicked way back in '84. That was before Bridgeport and Stevenson combined into North Jackson.

He was player of the week against Scottsboro for kicking two over 50 yards in that game......It was a home game against Albertville that he broke the record though. He kicked it through the goal posts on the field house end. His name was Kevin Gentle. He signed with Auburn but never did well in college.

Aundray Bruce is the best athlete I ever played with. I played a lot of pick up basketball with him and he could have been a lottery pick in the NBA if he'd chosen that path instead of football. Absolute freak athlete but dumb as a rock which is why he didn't dominate the NFL after being the number 1 pick. He played for Carver in Montgomery and won the state basketball championship all 3 years he was there. Greg Page (wide receiver for Alabama) was the point guard on all those teams.

Yeah , Kevin Gentle . AHSAA records has his longest @ 59 yards against Scottsboro .
I dont know,,,,,,,It was a 60 yard field goal at home that he tied the record on and it was at the end of the season in the playoffs against Albertville......We always played Scottsboro for the first game and he did kick two over 50 yards that game I'm pretty sure.......That was my freshman year......Maybe I remember it wrong

You know he may have actually kicked 5 field goals against Scottsboro that year......It shows us scoring 17 that night and I'm about 99% sure he kicked two over 50 yards that game......So we would have had to have gotten a safety and 5 field goals to do that and it seems like that's what may have happened.

Another reason AB couldn't make it in the NFL is he had little upper body strength. IIRC, he couldn't do 225 on the bench press.

I think Roy is lucky he grew up in a time before cell phone cameras, I do believe he might have been in some hot water with the roster fighting. Although some of the old home video of him out there training with the rosters is pretty cool to watch. He might have had the fastest hands ever in his prime. He had a mid 30' grady white called pound for pound, he would always fish the outcast shark tournament.

Tiger woods.... ![slap slap](/forum/images/graemlins/default/foreheadslap.gif) Heck, for 10 yrs he was at the top of his game plus had a different woman at every stop..... ![cry cry](/forum/images/graemlins/default/cry.gif) I love golf but I don't consider them athletes. If guys like Craig Staddler and Fuzzy Zoeller could play professionally then it definitely doesn't take athleticism.
