Looks like we’ll get some more hunting land to help replace what we’ve been loosing. AL Dept of conservation did not buy it. It is some private conservation group based on what I read. Chances are it was private land that will no longer be leased for hunting

Chances are it was private land that will no longer be leased for hunting This statement below was in the article so hopefully there will be more land for hunting: "The Conservation Fund intends to open the land for fishing, hunting, bird watching, hiking and other public uses."

It will end up in Forever Wild. It will wipe out two big hunting clubs that I know of and several smaller ones.

Although I am generally in favor of some level of wild lands public ownership and conservationism (not protectionism) an over abundance of this type large tract transfer from leasing availability to oublic availability can put upward pressure on lease prices. Kinda defeating some of the purpose of public ownership like making hunting and natural area use not just for the wealthy. Also, If the state is going to predictably step in to subsidize the “conservation” investor companies then the land prices are being inflated as well and people like many of us will never be able afford to obtain 50 or 100 acres.

As per this map our property is now surrounded on three sides. The public ownership of this proper has RUINED a once vibrant and productive area. I’ve been hunting up there since 2006 and it’s gone to crap on the old lease. I’ve been enjoying some ingress from the east side but if the public does with that what they’ve done with the west side that area will become a deer desert.

hopefully it will end up as open permit public land and not another damn SOA Hopefully, for the people that have been owning or leasing and hunting the land around it for years, it'll end up as SOA. Otherwise, it'll be shot to hell and back within a couple years.

If I’m not mistaken, if that salamander is found on paper company land they can’t cut the trees in that area ^^^^^^Anybody know where I can get a couple hundred of them?????
