IF the rumors floating around about alphabet boys and investigations are true I wouldn’t take any transfers for FFL or NFA items either. I’m not gonna repeat the rumors so don’t ask, just offering a different POV. I’ve always wondered how Mark’s Outdoors supposedly chooses who they’re going to help and who they’re going to alienate. It has nothing to do with suits or pinstripes because I own neither. They’re no different than any other place, some employees are better than others as far as customer service. Don’t be a dick, make eye contact, initiate conversation, pick out a gun, smile when shooting your new gun. Sad thing is, there would be just as many or more complaining if they met you at the door and shook your hand while following you around asking if they could help you find anything. My 2 cents, it’s worth what you paid for it. Nothing more nothing less.

They are probably trying to help their customers and Mark's is being Mark's.
I don't know why people shop at Mark's... I really don't.
What that says about the Nichols folks isn't great but not near as bad as what that says about Mark's IMO. What a bunch of punks. Dude was just trying to get his gun. F-them.
One of them is on here I hope they read this. I will be sure to continue to let everyone know y'all are a pack of A-holes. You are full of shucks. The guy that is on here is as good a person as there is and will go out of his way to help folks, at Mark's or outside of work. Enjoy shopping with those A-Holes. Make sure you hit Field and Stream as well. As long as your A hole self is not around I will be fine.

Even business professionals don't were them much now.

Hate it for Beadlescomb, sorry man. Walter Craig's when it was in Selma went through something similar. A guy bought it and led everyone to believe nothing was going to change as they had a good business with internet gun sales and a nice retail store. Maybe he knew that was going to get harder selling guns over the net but right at Christmas time he came in and told everyone it was their last day. A lot of them were friends too. Then he took the name an opened the store in Montgomery. After the way they did people, I've never bought anything from them since. I dont blame anyone for moving a business out of Selma. Selma puts the chit in chithole. Customers were probably getting robbed at gunpoint in the parking lot, and inventory loss was probably astronomical. None of this was true. Walter Craig's was in the safest part of town. They did deal with burglaries and attempted Burglaries from time to time, there was never any kind of safety issue to customers. Please don't comment on something you have no idea about. Dude just wanted to own a store with an established name and Bobby Price was ready to sell. He got his store, screwed over a lot of good people, and then moved a Selma institution to Montgomery, because he wanted it by his home. If crime had been the issue he damned sure wouldn't have moved it to Montgomery, where Selma criminals go to learn their trade.
Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.

The bad reputation from marks came from guys who never bore sighted a rifle or zeroed one and then carried it there to be cleaned.then joined there $5000+ a year hunting club Called queers where I come from
There's a filthy rich fella down here that used to sit on a park bench in front of a local gas station sometimes wearing overalls and no one knew he was probably second most wealthy person in this county.heard he had huge deer on his land

It's amazing that Mark's has been in business for over 40 years a bad as they treat customers. Many outdoors stores have come and gone in the Birmingham area in that time...

I miss the Gun Cellar and now Nichols too. Marks seems to have improved some. Maybe it’s because all my jeans with holes in the knees got too small.

Marks has earned every bit of its bad reputation. Mark himself cultivated and enforced it. It’s his legacy. I’ll drive by it twice again today, just like every work day. And I’ll continue to spend my money anywhere else

That's what I don't understand, do you need someone to hold your hand and give you a tour around the store? If it's something I need help with like a gun or bow, I go up and get someone to help me. Pretty simple. I wish I had a Mark's down here...
