To be clear, the store is closed "indefinitely" ( the owner's word) meaning no ones knows when it will reopen but no one I know gives any indication of the closure being permanent. The Facebook crowd has misinterpreted the word indefinitely. I think Chase and his mother, I'm sure she helped his decision, just didn't want to subject him, his employees, and customers to protests in and around the store. Probably a smart move.

I was just thinking, and I mean it in all sincerity, that this can be used by people of both races to teach youngsters about the issues of being drunk and stupid or allowing yourself to fall into the gang mentality.

Well I doubt anything will happen, but you never know. I keep my boat in my side yard, but it will be moved tomorrow. Don’t want to be associated just because there’s a boat in the yard. At the time all this went down, I was five miles up the Cahaba river enjoying that natural beauty.

On a side note, the world is a changed place, and not for the better. Folks are bitter and hardened. I’ve tried to make a conscience effort of saying a hello, how are you, etc to about every person I pass in everyday life. You’d be amazed the number of hardened faces that lighten up, smile and return the favor. We’re all in this crazy thing together, a little kindness goes a long way.

National news video depicts a poor black guy being ganged up on. Following comments are biased of course. We are at war with the media. This race issue will never go away.

I have contacted U.S.C.G. Sector Mobile and I will be contacting legislators involved in the maritime domain. I don’t want to get into specifics but there seems to be a serious issue with the vessels security plan, crew members inciting violence, facility security plan, and possibly the Captain’s actions in this incident. I would encourage everyone to contact Sector Mobile at 833-mob-uscg and inquire about the status of their investigation with the maritime matters of this event.

Perhaps Jawbone can speak to this? I've heard of a stereo shop owner in Selma years ago that had continuous break-ins. He finally had enough and spent the night in his shop. The burglar came in and the shop owner shot the guy and was totally justified. The blacks, however, made his life so miserable that closed up and moved.

The boycott/slander crap is what I mean about them being more organized than whites. No way whites could be organized or committed enough to boycott a business in an effort to ruin the owner. Too many people don’t want to be labeled.

So, why didn't the owner just move the damn boat?

I’m guessing that the majority of people boycotting and protesting in front of a business is on some sort of federal program or being paid by progressive organizations. While us white and black folks that are family oriented with fiscal responsibility go to work. The tribal mentality of the black race and their culture of group think will never change.

My buddy is normally on one of the boats but he didn’t make that trip. The people who he normally goes with were already at the hotel when the crap went down and I’m sure they are getting lumped into the bs but I haven’t talked to him since this weekend.

They don't care who was involved. It's a chance to punish a bunch of white people. The couldn't care less about the facts. No matter who they are or how well you think you know them and consider them your friends they will always choose people of the same skin color.

A large segment of people pushing the doxing agenda are white apologists...especially white women. I see it every day all over FB.

I'm sure the city will be sued. The security guards standing around and the crew members from the city owned Harriott getting involved in the fight will be a lot of money for the people from Selma. The fight was over with and everyone was waiting on the police to arrive and then the crew from the Harriott started the fight again. Mayor Reed will have to do some two stepping on this one.

When I look at all the crap on social media about this incident from one of the "sides" in this, it is really appalling. Celebrating what happened here is sickening and a testament to the character of too many people. Furthermore, these same people are posting pictures and posting names of people claiming they were involved and these people were not within 100 miles of Montgomery Alabama on Saturday. It is just disgusting. I have to go to Montgomery at times and through Montgomery at times but I don't spend a minute there I don't have to.
