I don't see that. The State guys want no part of this and they can bow out gracefully and say it is Montgomery's. Now, if they wanted to be involved, they could, but I can assure you they don't want it. AG's office might take a look if asked, but ALEA isn't going to touch it if they can avoid it.

I keep forgetting that I know all the details and how the situation is being handled, and everyone else is just assuming.

I’m just curious if the USCG should be involved in this incident as well. Being the Harriet II (USCG official no. 635158) is inspected and a Certificate of Inspection is issues to the riverboat; also the captain needing required licenses along with the deck hands having appropriate Merchant Mariners Documents required by the COI. Would appear the Captain would be responsible for his crews actions, especially directing a deck hand go move or approach the owners of the boat to move it. Just something to ponder?? I know the USCG doesn’t have the bite it did years ago; but navigable waterways is the US is compliant with USCG Regs.

What’s the history between these folks. It has been mentioned but no details. One source said the history goes back several years which implied having previous problems.
