One of the group, that was not involved in this, took the captions golf cart and parked it in the renaissance hotel lobby. The captain talked about it on his talk show tour recently.

I can’t believe how hard the guy hit that lady over the head with that chair.
Seriously could have hurt her.

"I have contacted U.S.C.G. Sector Mobile and I will be contacting legislators involved in the maritime domain. I don’t want to get into specifics but there seems to be a serious issue with the vessels security plan, crew members inciting violence, facility security plan, and possibly the Captain’s actions in this incident. I would encourage everyone to contact Sector Mobile at 833-mob-uscg and inquire about the status of their investigation with the maritime matters of this event."

I am also curious about how the Insurance company who covers the Riverboat responds. If I were the Insurance company I would drop the coverage without hesitation, too much risk, especially going forward.

Is it actually the City of Montgomery who owns and operates the Harriott II? Could the city be self-insured through tax revenue and not have third party insurance?

Thank you; I never saw that statement!!! I just figured the USCG should and that’s a big should be involved. I worked Marine Compliance for a couple Drilling Contractors in the gulf and in Mexico; both, USCG and Foreign Foagged vessels.

How sad is it that a guy can hit a woman in the head with a chair and people donate that much money to him. The hate of whites is strong.

I wondered if that could really be true, so I googled it. Sure enough, multiple articles confirming it. I know it’s true but, I can’t believe the donations would be that high. For donations to rise to that level - for a guy who’s clearly guilt of complete nonsense behavior - tells me there is a lot of legitimate hate, broad and deep.

One’s physical description is capitalized and the other’s describing the trait is not…one seems more important than the other. Appears to have a certain South African je ne sais quoi.

Ok. So before all of the Go Fund Me money all the guy was looking at was a $500. fine and some court costs.
Now it is worth it for the woman to sue him in a civil court for a lot of money that he is also going to have to pay taxes on. If she had sued him before he would not have any money to pay her but now he does and it is public record that he does. So there.

But will she? Will her attorney advise for or against the idea?

I would do it. Worst case he settles out of court and she gets a check. Its not like the media is going to give her any positive attention if she does nothing or something.

Any chance she could get a jury that would be even remotely not biased against her?

A good enough lawyer can have her case moved out of Montgomery county.

The city or any other company operating under the Jones Act does not have to be insured at all, but I bet the City has a policy if the vessel is operated by the City instead of a vendor/operator.

What would make you think you don’t need to be insured because you are a Jones act qualified vessel?
