I saw one at the Mobile Hunters Expo in Chattanooga. They're tiny.

Of all the current high end ultralights, I favor the Elevate Element Ultra. A little more weight but for me the platform was actually a usable size. Lone Wolf Custom Gear .5 and the Beast Gear stand both cost more but would fit the bill too.

There’s a lot of good “mobile” loc-ons. It always seems to come down to weight vs practicality. I still think the millenium m7 microlite is the best option for the money. Decently priced too.

Can you give us the rundown on the stands you saw at the show? What looked impressive?

What about XOP, did they put out a new stand this year?

I saw the Ingwe, Elevate Ultra and Element, and XOP Cold World and Retrograde. If there was another stand there, I'm forgetting them. I hoped XOP would have the machined climber they teased at ATA but it was a no show.

The Ingwe, Retrograde and Ultra are comparable and what I was looking at specifically.

Ingwe is the lightest and second smallest. It's too small for me and the way I want to stand and move in a stand. I need more width on the platform. (Size 12 shoes). The machining was well done on their demo unit.

XOP Retrograde is the middle of the three in weight but the smallest physically. It wouldn't work for me for the same reasons the Ingwe wouldn't. Except it's even smaller. Once again quality machining.

Ultra weighed the most of the three but was also the largest. I didn't feel constrained by the size of the platform. I liked it enough that I ended up buying one after the show. Now that I have one in hand I'm happy with my purchase. It's water-jet cut and I'll be honest some of the cuts could be a little cleaner but no other complaints.
