Got one decent one behind the house. Pretty solid tines. I've only had this one camera on a creek crossing for a couple weeks now, so haven't got much on camera yet. Gonna put out some more on the main property I hunt today.

This one is an older deer, doesn't look like much though. Still got a decent bit of growing left though here Mobile co. though so we'll see

4 year old 10pt and a 3 year old 10pt. Both will get a pass this year. The 3yr old will get a pass next year too.

You should worry more about what you can control and let everyone else be happy with what theyā€™re happy about. Not everyone has the acreage or the desire to let everything walk in hopes that he survives till 6-7 years old. Iā€™ve said it before, Iā€™ll shoot what I like and hope everyone else does the same

He needs another year CNC - but he would b my personal best and i would mount that

I killed a 6 year old i had watched for sev years last year in clarke and nothing else. Every good deer i hav let go the last 4 - 5 years has disapeared - deer i thought would b 130s following year - somebody shooting the deer i let go - i dont think i get a stud where i at and i got lot of sanctuary

Had multiple good deer n camden - one would hav been easy 130s this year that i watched for years - pretty sure he dead - the other good deer - gone - he would hav been huge this year

Kind of deflated on deer season - don't think i ever grow a mounter - not even sure i will hav a shooter this year or a mature - 2 years ago i had like 5-6 old deer n clarke - vanished

No need in getting your panties bunched upā€¦..Itā€™s just a fact. The reason we donā€™t grow many big deer is because nobody letā€™s them walk long enough.

Cnc - i shot a 6 yr old last year and 7 year old the year before - i dont think my neghbirs will cooperate for me. And i got bunch of friends that only shoot mature - they aint got no 140 r 150 on camera. One of them has 1400 acer - he only shoot mature - he Never gets 140 and up in camera - they been there 15 years and many years he or his father never shoot - He finally got 1 - 130 on cam last year - just 1

What u prob never get thru your melon - 130 very rare in this area - even for those that never shoot - the 1400 acre guy - shoots very few deer a year - some years no bucks. He let us pay and join him few year - we shot a doe every year - nothing we wanted to mount was seen - no 130s on camera - shot no bucks

It aint as cookie cutter as u make it in this area and u aint never hunted here which means u dont no what the crap u talking about n this area

Got a buddy w 500 acres n mertlewood - they aint shot a deer n 3 years - guess what - no 130 on camera - ahh - its a miracle - no jack - thats just extremely common in this area - guess what - he prob want shoot this year and i guarantee u he want hav a 130

Leave your expertise for your area - u dont no squat about mine - u aint ever hunted it

Tell you a fact, I donā€™t wear panties and donā€™t care to get in a dick measuring contest with an idiot but you continuously talk more crap about all the doā€™s and donā€™t and itā€™s really aggravating. Like I said, worry bout your 20 acres and stop acting like you know everything.

Sj what I can tell u are a fine fella and cnc probably is as well. I donā€™t believe he means any harm but one thing about it the game is changing and our landscape is not and never will be and exact science. U are right itā€™s everyoneā€™s choice what they shoot or not and thatā€™s how it will always be in bama. With that being said I know we have the hardest turkey hunting there is anywhere in the country so I figure these bucks that grow to a 150 are another level smart with the pressure and long season.

Iā€™ve owned my property for 16 years. We didnā€™t shoot hardly anything the first 10 except does and one 5-6 yr old 8 I killed and a 4-5 yr old 6. We had a bunch of property no one hunted around us and the ones who did either shot everything or just big deer. I watched a deer on camera at 3.5 as a 100ā€ 10 then a 140ā€ 10 then a 150plus. That was 2017 last year and he died in 2019 I was told. Since the biggest deer Iā€™ve had on camera is a 125-130ā€ 8 yā€™all saw I killed this year. More neighbors hunting most will shoot a 3.5 yr old. I let a split g2 10 walk 3 years ago as an either stud 2yr old or a good 3yr old to be never seen again. At that point I quit trying to raise big deer on small acreage. We let lots of bucks walk but know a neighbor is highly likely to kill them. Now I spend hundreds of hrs making my property as good as possible to hope I can save one or two. I let my 12 yr old daughter shoot a 2.5 yr old 8 last yr but she hunted hard and I wonā€™t regret it. I have nothing to shoot this yr and likely wonā€™t next but Iā€™m gonna try.

Would walk over a naked woman to get to a gobblin turkey!

You canā€™t expect to grow and hold big deer on 500 or even 1400 acres if your neighbors arenā€™t trying to grow big mature deer too. Sounds like a lot of acreage but to a deer, itā€™s not much and there will almost absolutely be periods of time, when that buck is off your property on on someone elseā€™s. They simply roam too much, especially in the rut. If youā€™ve got guys all around you that hunt hard and shoot every decent 2.5 or 3.5 yr old 8pt they see, chances are you wonā€™t have many, if any, older age class bucks to hunt. Also remember, deer are like people, some are just bigger than others, and not every old buck is going to have wallhanger head gear. Thereā€™s no guarantee that what few deer that you have, that do make it into older age classes, will sport that 130ā€ rack youā€™re looking for. Killing big racked bucks is simply a numbers game. The more bucks you can get up into older age classes, the better chance you have to kill a 130 or better. With Alabamaā€™s fragmented properties, heavy hunting pressure and exceptionally liberal harvest regs, unless you and all your neighbors are on the same page, managing for older age class bucks, and control big contiguous blocks of land, the percentages just simply arenā€™t in your favor.
