Settle a debate between me and the wife. I am working on my yamaha 30 hp. It needs new paint. Instead of painting it the original paint scheme, I’ve been think about painting it to look like a Yamaha HPDI. She said it would look stupid because yamaha never made an HPDI under 150 hp. Anyone who knew this would say it was dumb. I said that it would look slick, and that anyone who saw it would think it’s cool. I even found a place who made the V Max graphics small enough to fit. What say y’all, paint it like the HPDI or leave it like it originally was? It’s just paint, I can always repaint later.

This is what it originally looks like

I love that original cowling scheme.

The harder I practice, the luckier I get.

I think it would look awesome. Wanna practice on my hpdi first? 😁. Damn paint peeling all over.

Fun fact: this is a dead ringer for HPDI blue. It's a lot cheaper and easier than Yamahas three step process. I've used it multiple times.

I say to fix your boat the way you want it! There's something about having one that is unique.

This is, custom matched automotive paint, with a top clear coat. New decals that I ordered somewhere online.

I’d say if this is something your wife actually knows the difference on, then she is probably someone who generally makes good decisions in life and is worth listening to.
