Red clover is notorious for reseeding so it builds up quick.

I planted crimson and arrowleaf last fall, and then didn't mow it until I was sure it seeded out. For reference: Whitetail clover Durana Neither look like this right now, thanks to the hot dry weather. And the Whitetail one was ruined last summer by the loggers, so I have to start over with it. Some still came back though. Hopefully my skid steer guy makes it out friday to push all the mess the loggers left off, so I can lime it and plant the rest of it.

If the loggers run their equipment/trucks on your plot, look into getting a chisel plow or subsoiler run over your plot. A single shank subsoiler will be slow but they can be bought pretty cheap.

I don’t spray mine. I plant mid September and bushhog after broadcasting my seed and fertilizer. It doesn’t get bushhogged again until planting time in mid September. Turkeys nest in it in the Spring and fawns use it for cover in the summer. It has been working great for me for years.

A chisel plow with a new set of teeth is a wonderful implement I've got access to a couple I can borrow, but just missed one on Marketplace for $300.

^ that's it. CNC have you had success with leaving an edge like that in the bottom pic on the left? Yes, I basically just cut the plot out of it and leave the perimeter. Very nice!!!!

Problem was Jerry was set in his ways that’s not how it’s done mindset. Gotta get great seed to soil contact. Most don’t realize seedling vigor matters.
