Great news. I used to love him on the Ken Tucker outdoor show. Glad he's improving.

I saw a picture of him sitting up in bed with a grandson without a lot attached to him. He’s also made some post on instagram.

wife and I spent several hours in a Texas airport lounge with him, really down to earth guy. Prayers for a speedy recovery.

About 20 years ago I was hunting in a club with a buddy of mine down in Chambers Co. We shared the lease with a group of guys from Georgia during deer season but we had the whole place to ourself during Turkey season. My buddy was real good friends with Eddie and they had hunted some together and talked on the phone a lot. My buddy introduced me to him at the BJCC during one of the Deer Expos and he invited us to eat lunch with him. We sat in the back of the BJCC and ate BBQ with the Turkey Man. We got to talking about setting up a trip to our club and doing some hunting with him and he was all about it. We made the plans and set the dates which turned out to be the second weekend of season. We left the place alone the first weekend so we wouldn’t educate any birds and let Eddie have first crack at them. The next weekend came and I went down early to get camp ready. My buddy called about 8 pm and said Eddie wasn’t coming because he was cutting some trees with a chainsaw and let it get away from him and about cut his foot off. I was disappointed of course but life happens. We got up the next morning and went over to the lease and during the course of that morning I found 11 feeders slinging scratch on every foodplot we had. Those Georgia goobs had decided to take up “turkey hunting” and they had friggin feeders and scratch everywhere. We gathered up all that mess and piled it in the front yard of their camp and told them if it was put back out we would draw a map to every one of them and send it to the Wardens.
I’ve talked to Eddie many times since and told him that story. All he could say was “Thank God for chainsaws”.

Eddie taught me how to call Turkeys over the course of several weekends when I was younger and struggling to figure Turkey Hunting out. It wasn't clicking. I'm indebted to this guy my father was never much of a Turkey hunter. I am. Eddie's fault.
No government employees were harmed in the making of this mess.
