I used a Mystery ranch in Colorado and it was fantastic! We walked 8-10mi per day covering 2-3k feet in elevation changes. Packed out an elk and had 3mi hike with 100lb on my back in knee deep snow. It really spreads the weight through your hips and shoulders. Yes, I took a Beartooth on my elk hunt. Ended up selling it. Bought this one for the next hunt that didn't happen. Thinking about going with a smaller bag (maybe sawtooth)

Why you not like beartooth? Thats the one I’m looking at for Philmont and backpacking in general. The Metcalf is borderline on paper as far as capacity for Philmont.
