Geneva dog hunt they will place you on a stand. You cannot leave that area. However, it is either sex this year but only 1 deer a day. If you pop a doe at daylight you’re done for the day but if you don’t shoot her. You probably won’t see a six or better cause typically only a few shooter bucks are killed. Blue springs is totally different. Most have their own hunting party and hunt where they want and move like they want. If you don’t have or know somebody with dogs, your only choice is pick some place and hope somebody runs something by you. It’s a fairly big area but at least you’ll get to hear a good race. Every year there is a couple bulls killed so they are there. Both hunts are shotgun only.
take your kids hunting and you won't be hunting your kids

I got a Blue Springs Dog hunt for 12/29 and an Oak Mountain for 11/20. Declined both. None of my family drew anything good this year either.
“SOA professional” I love it 🤣

Mrs. Bamaeyedoc got Portland Landing January 18th weekend! Only took 65 preference points. I’m excited for her and so is she!
It’s a weird system when folks get chosen year after year (or even the first time) and it took 4 years of her registering for close to 20 hunts each year to finally get the chance. We just register for hunts close to our camp so we’ll have a place to stay.
Should be a good time for that area. Just gotta get a game plan together. That is the weekend I went last year....probably the best weekend on the best SOA...sort of the holy grail of SOA selections....congrats Message me if you get assigned unit 17 Thanks! I'll to it!

I reckon I'll see yall at the BS dog hunt. We used to run dogs with the parnells when I was a kid. It was loads of fun. I currently don't know anyone with some decent deer dogs. I take that back.... I do but I don't want to be around any of them with a loaded weapon in their hands.

I think they assign stand for the Dec. 29-30 Buck only hunt. I Hope that is the way the State handles it and Hope that is is organized. Good luck to all on Blue Springs Dog hunt and hope it is a blast.

Would walk over a naked woman to get to a gobblin turkey!

I got the Geneva hunt 12/8. My son has cedar creek on 02/02. Will the rut still be going in Feb? Rut will be in full swing.
