Globe, my grandfather trapped the Yellow creek and Hell's creek area around Vernon. I don't know how many, but he would catch a mink every now and then. He always had a big grin on his face when he caught one. This was back in the 60's and 70's.

I use to see em when hunting Escambia River many years ago. My buddy actually shot one. Tried to skin it, but man that thing stunk. Not sure why he even shot it, but we were 16 or 17, so we didn't think things through at that age.

Life is a journey. Make sure and bring plenty of Beer.

My luck has been so bad lately, it could be raining pussies and I'd catch one with a dick broke off in it.

I've caught them in traps that were set for coons, but that's been a lot of years ago. They are about the meanest thing you can catch.

I trapped them when I was in school and that smell of those male minks was absolutely horrible. They were worth lots of money back then but sometimes I questioned if dealing with that smell was worth it. Bout the only thing that I found to get that smell off your hands was a mixture of yellow mustard and toothpaste. Nobody traps now and with all the crawfish ponds around here now, them stinky lil bastages are everywhere now.

It's hard to kiss the lips at night that chews your a$$ all day long.

My cat killed one and brought it up to the house a few years back. I have seen them on the Tensaw river, but not often.

When I was the caretaker of an old house in the country it had an old Corn Crib on it. I had a good old Yellow Lab that one of my baseball teammates gave me. One day she brought something from there that looked like a mink but a tad smaller. The next day she got another one. I took them to Mark Mims and he was stumped. He did some research and finally found out that it was some kind of weasel that is rare for Alabama. I don't know what he ever did with those things.

My dogs treed a weasel a few years after moving to chilton cnty. Only one I’ve ever seen.

Minks are pretty common. I don’t see them often, but see their tracks very often in sandy washes and gravel bars near creeks.
